The name “Attempted Murder Yarn Co.” is inspired by my love of crows & their intelligence, mischief, and mystery. A group of crows is called a ”murder” and the name felt like the perfect blend of humor and creativity to reflect my journey. Like crows collecting shiny things, I gather inspiration everywhere to create vibrant, personality-filled yarns.
Knitting and I have a funny history. My mom tried to teach me when I was a teenager, but I brushed it off as something for “Old People” (teen me had no clue what she was talking about). When I picked it up later in life, I fell in love instantly. There’s something so magical about the rhythm of the needles and watching yarn transform into something beautiful. Crochet, however, is a newer journey. I’m still learning (and frogging; a lot), but I’m determined to figure it out, one wonky stitch at a time.
When I’m not immersed in yarn, I’m juggling a full-time job in the tech industry, working alongside my amazing husband (the behind-the-scenes business guy who keeps everything running), and keeping my sanity (or losing it) with our six animals, four cats and two dogs. Life around here is beautifully chaotic, but don’t worry, all yarn is dyed in a separate, pet-free environment (even though the cats think they’d be fantastic supervisors).
Attempted Murder Yarn Co. is so much more than a business to me. It’s my way of sharing my love for the fiber arts and connecting with other makers who love creating as much as I do. Whether you’re knitting, crocheting, weaving, or just collecting yarn like a fiber dragon (no judgment!), my hope is that every skein I dye inspires you to craft something magical.
Thank you for being part of this wild, colorful journey. Let’s take all the shiny, chaotic inspiration and turn it into something truly beautiful together!
