FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before committing to a skein. (We support your choices, even the impulsive ones.)
Ordering & Shipping
Ready-to-ship orders are typically processed and shipped within 2–5 business days. Dyed to Order skeins currently require 2–4 weeks for dyeing. Good things take time, and great things take dye.
Orders ship Monday through Friday, though weekends happen too depending on what's on the dye schedule. You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking info once your order is on its way. If that email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. It may be lurking.
Not yet, our ravens are currently domestic only. We're actively working on expanding internationally and hope to have an update soon. In the meantime, drop us a note if you'd like to be on our radar when that changes.
We want you to love every skein. If your yarn has a manufacturing defect, under-spun or weak areas, two or more knots per skein, or other quality concerns, we'll happily refund your purchase within 30 days.
We're unable to accept returns for dye lot differences (every hand-dyed skein is one of a kind) or tangling caused by improper winding. If something's not right, email us at support@attemptedmurderyarn.com, we'll make it right.
Yes! We run periodic promotions, restocks, and surprise sales. The best way to be first in the know is to join our mailing list, that's where new colorways and deals are announced before they hit social media. Plus, free shipping on orders $75+.
The Yarn
We're committed to ethical sourcing and animal welfare. Our bases are proudly mulesing-free, sourced from Peru, where our fibers come from happy, healthy sheep living their best lives. When you choose our yarn, you're supporting humane farming practices, and treating yourself to some seriously excellent fiber.
Treat it gently and it'll reward you for years. Wash in cool water with a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Squeeze out excess water, no wringing, no twisting. Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight, which can fade even the most dramatic colorways.
Some colors may bleed slightly during the first wash, don't panic, this is completely normal with hand-dyed fiber. A small splash of white vinegar in the rinse water can help set the dye. Think of it as part of the process, not a problem.
Exactly what it sounds like: your skeins are dyed specifically for your order. This is the ideal option if you're working on a larger project and want to ensure all your skeins are from the same dye lot, because nothing is worse than running out of yarn with one sleeve left to go.
Dyed to Order skeins require approximately 2–4 weeks for dyeing before they ship.
Yes! If you have a colorway in mind that you don't see in the shop, send us a message at emily@attemptedmurderyarn.com with your vision. We love a creative brief, the more specific, the better. Mood boards welcome.
Finding Us
We don't currently have a brick-and-mortar of our own, but a curated selection of our yarn can be found at The Cookie Cottage in Fort Wayne, Indiana. And of course, the full flock lives here in the online shop, available anytime your stash-enabling habits strike.
We do! Keep an eye on our Instagram and mailing list for upcoming event announcements. Events are always a great chance to see the colorways in person and resist buying everything (we won't judge if you don't).
We've got you. Reach out via our contact page or email us directly at support@attemptedmurderyarn.com. We're a small operation, so response times may vary, but every message gets a real reply.
Still have questions? We're here. Send us a note, we always write back.
